Marie Diamond Uses Feng Shui To Master The Secret

The more I devote my time into finding out what makes the individuals featured in the monster hit of the year The Secret tick, the more I see what an eclectic mix of personalities they all are. Marie Diamond is no exception.
She originates from Belgium and as she tells it she first started applying the law of attraction at the age of 7 through the pictures she would draw.
As the story goes her father and brother had what could be best described as a Falling Out with one another after her brother ran off and married without first informing the family. She loved her brother very much but he dropped out of her life entirely after his dispute with their father. She thought of him often and longed to see him again. Months went by without a word but she kept thinking of him just the same.

Out of nowhere it seems she got her first form of contact from him via a letter. Armed with his return address she wrote him back pouring out her little heart in every word written and requested to see him and his new bride. She then went to her room and drew a picture of her father and brother making amends by having them shake hands with the idea of forgiveness behind that simple gesture. She drew that picture with her intention in each and every separate stroke. She focused all her attention on the idea of her sibling and father coming together again for Christmas.

To her very own amazement she awoke on Christmas Eve to find her brother and his new bride in their living room. They (her father and older brother) where shaking hands just like they were in the picture she had created! She knew then and there the power of emotions and the thoughts they create. She has used this method of manifesting ever since and you can see for yourself what it has done for her in her own life!

After watching the interview she gave on ABCs View From The Bay where she related this story I understood why her contribution to The Secret showed her telling her client to draw what he wanted to manifest. Before seeing that interview, I had no idea the power that form of artistic impression and intent really had in the creation of making our dreams materialize. I have been so touched by her personal story that I am in the intention of drawing a picture depicting my family which consists of myself, my two daughters Nikki and Hunter and my dear friend Corey who opened up his home to us while I get back on my feet -enjoying the life we are currently creating for ourselves with happiness, health and wealth behind the intent!

She also emphasized the power of Vision Boards. She held up her own as an example of how to create one for the viewers to see. She has such great intention for wealth that she actually had a picture of A Billion-Dollar Bill! I didnt even know they existed until I saw one on her board. The idea behind that she stated was to allow unlimited amounts of wealth and prosperity to flow into her life. I like that idea myself. How about you?

Lastly she explained how important it is for you to look at, imagine having, and focusing on the objects you put on your own Vision Board. Her advise for the board put it in a place where you will see it though out the day like your office for instance if you have one. The idea is to focus on it daily but she cautions never have the board behind you as it will not be as powerful there and it may even result in the objects on the board not coming to you at all. In front of you is the best place for it but anywhere where your peripheral vision can see it will do as well.

Shop Drawing Liability, Review Process And 3d Structural Modeling

Over the last two decades, many advancements have occurred in the production of shop drawings due to advancements in computer technology. The developments in computer-aided drafting and building informational modeling (BIM) have impacted how shop drawings in structural steel, reinforcing steel and other trades are produced.

Computer-based 3D modeling has impacted constructability issues and improved communication among the major players in the overall construction process. Based on interviews conducted with a select group of fabricators, contractors and engineers, the author concludes that shop drawings produced using 2D and 3D computer software is a positive step toward improving constructability.

Just as the design, drafting, fabrication, and construction practices vary from company to company based on the size of the company, and the types of civil works they are involved in, so does the practice of production of shop drawings.

Each fabricator has to develop their own 3D model from 2D drawings which is contrary to what the architects do, that is developing 2D drawings from a 3D model. Issues of risk, legality, and responsibility come into play, and seemingly easy solutions are difficult to achieve.

The accuracy and precision of shop drawings is vital to the success or failure of an engineering project. The contractor is responsible for production of shop drawings and is required to review the shop drawings before transmitting them to the architect/engineer. The Architect/engineer is not obligated to review any shop drawing unless it has been reviewed by the contractor. This is also done to weed out the submittals that are seriously missing significant information, or do not agree with the contractors means and methods.

With the advancement of computer-aided drafting and 3D modeling technologies, and electronic submittals and review processes, positive steps have been taken to enhance the overall process of shop drawings. In the long run, if all the parties involved in the process can share their data and their 3D models so that all parties can work off of the same data base, it will immensely improve the accuracy and quality of the shop drawings.

Why I Hate Marcel Duchamp And Modern Art

Duchamps place in the timeline of art history

The history of art can be traced back to cave paintings of about 15000 BC.

The nature of paintings changed little until around 1450 AD, when the Renaissance brought-about naturalistic styles and formal rules of composition, such as perspective (Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, etc).

Following the Renaissance, new styles emerged every 50 to 100 years, but nothing significantly changed (e.g. the rules of perspective were still applied).

In 1874, Impressionism was born (Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, etc). The term was originally used to make fun of Claude Monet’s painting Impression: Sunrise, but was adopted by artists to describe their style of work. Most people are familiar with Impressionism, so I will not waste words describing the style, and move on.

At the end of the 1800s, Impressionism spawned Post Impressionism (Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, etc). While Impressionism had remained faithful to nature, Post Impressionism favoured brighter and more unnatural colours.

Next we had Abstraction, where artists (Modigliani, Picasso, etc) changed the appearance of their subject so it no longer looked realistic, by shifting the point of view, exaggeration, simplification, etc.

At the risk of over simplifying things myself – Fauvism, Cubism, Futurism, and Dada all quickly followed, and were variations on Abstraction. Its the Dada artists that I want to write about.

In 1916, the Dada movement was formed amidst despair and revulsion arising from the horrors of World War I. Dada art was intentionally anti-aesthetic, and sought to reject all rules and conventions. Many Dada artists considered their work to be anti-art, and to have the purpose of enraging their audiences.

The single most influential Dada artist was arguably Marcel Duchamp.

Conceptual Art springs from the Fountain

As a young boy, Duchamp aspired to become an artist, and took classes in academic drawing. He worked in the styles of the time (Post Impressionism, Cubism, etc), but failed to achieve recognition, until 1917, when his notorious Fountain changed the face of art.

“Fountain” was a signed urinal. Duchamp claimed it to be a work of art that he had created, because; he chose it, he gave it a name, he placed it in a different context, and created a new thought for that object.

In December 2004, Duchamp’s Fountain was voted the most influential artwork of the 20th century by 500 selected British art world professionals. The Independent noted in a February 2008 article that with this single work, Duchamp invented conceptual art and “severed forever the traditional link between art and merit”.

Each person has to draw his or her own conclusions, but these are mine.

Duchamp was taking the “p”.

He was an art anarchist, and his aim was to damage the art establishment. Unfortunately the art establishment evolved to embrace his prank, and allowed Duchamp to achieve his goal.

Perhaps this happened because Duchamp presented an opportunity for those similarly without skill to enter a world previously closed to them? Whatever, more than 90 years later, our art galleries, art awards, and media coverage are all full of fountains, and the objective of our most notorious present day artists still appears to be enraging their audiences. Modern art has become a very weary joke.

Reasoning that anything can be art is no different to saying that everything is everything. History has even been rewritten, and the cave paintings now often given a new conceptual twist: they were not decoration, but an early form of communication.

Detractors of modern art are often shot down. When we voice our views we are usually patronisingly told that we dont like it because we dont understand it. I do understand I honestly do!

The point I am trying to make is that conceptual art is one very tiny and polarised viewpoint. It does not render all other points of view invalid.

Why am I bothered?

Well, as a professional portrait artist, I aspire to keep alive the traditional standards of natural colours, perspective, etc. The act of creation is subordinate to the output. My purpose is to copy from life, paint something pretty (delight rather than shock), and make no political statement.

However, it feels as though the only measure of mertit is that of conceptual art. On the Duchamp scale, my work has no merit; indeed, it probably doesnt even qualify as art.

Mechanical 2d Drafting And Mechanical 2d Drawing

Mechanical 2D Drafting is creation of accurate representations of objects for manufacturing and engineering needs. You can also say that mechanical 2D drafting is unique process of creating accurate representations of objects for manufacturing and engineering projects. With the help of mechanical 2D drawings we can define the clarity of the projections.

Mechanical 2D drawings fully and clearly define requirements for concepts or products, and are usually created in accordance with standardized conventions for layout, nomenclature, interpretation, appearance, size, etc. Mechanical 2D drafting essentially has to accurately and clearly capture all the geometric features of a product or a component and thus convey all the required information that will allow a manufacturer to produce that component.

Mechanical 2D Drafting include services such as drawing from abstract sketches, paper to CAD Conversions, Image to DWG formats ,mechanical parts and components, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, piping diagrams, translation to other 3D Software etc. One extension of 2D drafting is 3D wire frame. Each line has to be manually inserted into the drawing. The final product has no mass properties associated with it and cannot have features directly added to it, such as holes.
